I’ve spent the past eight years working in the equine industry, starting with cleaning stalls and working my way up to training colts. I’m currently enrolled in SUNY Morrisville’s Equine Breaking and Training program and will graduate in spring 2027.

Morrisville has given me the opportunity to gain hands-on experience starting colts, including some of the more challenging ones. Interestingly, it was the first colt I started that sparked my interest in cutting horses. She was a mare who would spook and duck underneath me at every opportunity. Someone joked that I was “sticky” and should try cutting, and that comment planted the seed for what would become a passion for the sport.

My experiences have shaped the horsewoman I am today and continue to drive my desire to learn, improve, and help horses reach their potential.
